Delete Account

This page covers both deleting your entire Olive account and deleting specific data in the app without closing your account.
Deletion is handled in the Olive app only. For the broader data practices that apply to Olive, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How to delete your account
Account deletion happens inside the Olive app. The website does not collect passwords, provide a deletion form, or send deletion requests to Olive on your behalf.
- Open Olive and sign in
- Menu → Settings
- Account tab
- Delete account
- Type DELETE to confirm
- Permanently delete my account
After you confirm, Olive signs you out. This action is permanent and cannot be undone from the app.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
Users can delete some Olive data in the app without deleting their account:
- Conversations — Open the menu → conversation history → delete a chat. This removes that conversation, its messages, and its summary from your account.
- Memories — Settings → Memory → Forget on an individual memory, or use Forget everything to delete all saved memories.
- Care Bridge handoffs — Open Care Bridge → delete/remove a saved handoff.
- Preferences and optional contact info — Settings → Preferences → edit or clear fields you previously saved.
Turning memory off stops new long-term memories from being created; use Forget to remove existing memories.
These actions are permanent for the data removed and do not delete your sign-in account.
What we delete
When your Olive account is deleted, we delete or de-identify routine account-linked data, including:
- your authentication account;
- your profile information, including email address and name;
- your preferences and support settings;
- chat messages, conversation summaries, and related support history;
- memories and continuity information;
- Care Bridge materials, handoffs, and related account-linked records;
- resource search history saved in your account;
- account-linked beta analytics, diagnostics, crashes, and error records where they are not needed for limited retention purposes.
What we do not delete
Deleting your Olive account does not delete:
- your Google or Apple account. If you used Google or Apple Sign-In, those accounts remain managed by Google or Apple;
- data you already exported, copied, emailed, printed, or shared outside Olive;
- voluntary beta feedback that may remain after account deletion if it has been de-identified and is no longer linked to your account.
Retention
The in-app deletion action is permanent: you are signed out and cannot restore the deleted account through Olive.
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or reasonably justified by law, safety, security, fraud prevention, record integrity, dispute handling, or legal defense.
Routine account and support data is deleted or de-identified, subject to backup and system-recovery cycles. Limited records related to safety review, security, fraud prevention, legal process, compliance, or legal defense may be retained where reasonably necessary or required by law.

If you cannot access the app, email support@olivehelps.ca from the email address on your Olive account to request deletion of specific data or your full account. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before we can help.
